BBST dive tank championships (1 length in the dive tank).  
Kelly's time was 5.17, and Thomas swam a 4.66.

Marathon Volunteers Needed

Attention Wenatchee Campers

It looks like camping at the pool in Wenatchee is a go!!  BBST has been in touch with the meet director for the Wenatchee Apple Challenge swim meet regarding camping adjacent to the pool in Pioneer Park.  We learned this afternoon that the hosting club is arranging an agreement with the city in order to allow camping in Pioneer Park.  This will more than likely result in a fee somewhere in the range of $15-$20 per camping family.  The word on this is "unofficial" at this time, but should be finalized yet this week.

BBST Winter Gear Order: Due Friday, November 9th

For those of you that are interested in ordering BBST Gear, there will be an updated order form in the letter holder on the filing cabinet at the pool. We will do another order at this time. In order for items to arrive by Christmas, orders must be into JD Pence by November 15th. Please have them in the "Wilbour" folder by Friday, November 9th. Families are also welcome to call in their orders directly to JD Pence at 1-800-547-2520.

Apple Capital Meet in Wenatchee
We have a very early meet entry deadline for the Wenatchee Apple Capital Swim Meet this year.  Entries are due April 1st (or are they???).  Just kidding.

Care of Snorkels
Our snorkels are really helping our Freestyle! Let's keep them in good shape and clean! Finis (the snorkel manufacturer) recommends cleaning the snorkel regularly with warm water and soap.  Swimmers should inspect their snorkel regularly for cleanliness (esp. mold-like growth).  To keep your snorkel clean it is recommended that you place your snorkel out to dry between swim practices.  Keeping a snorkel in a swim bag is asking for grime and mold to form.  It is also recommended to scrub the mouthpiece well with a brush and warm soapy water when dirt/grime/mold is suspected.

CONCESSIONS VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Volunteers are needed to sell concessions both days of the upcoming BBST March Challenge Meet. Both morning and afternoon shifts are available. If you sign up to work during the time your swimmer is competing, you can always leave the concession area to watch your child’s event. So, please lend a hand. This is a great way to complete some Team volunteer hours. The sign up sheet is posted on the BBST file cabinet in the lobby at the Aquatic Center.

CONCESSION SUPPORT NEEDED
During home swim meets, BBST has an opportunity to raise needed funds by operating a concession stand. Our Team tradition is the families contribute items to sell at the concession booth. A sign up sheet listing items needed for concession sales is posted in the lobby area at the Aquatic Center. Please sign up to contribute an item and help make our meet a financial success. Time taken to procure concession items can count toward mandatory hours contribution for your family.

Novice dual meet a huge success! 
 Fifteen novice swimmers competed on Saturday, December 9th, against the Friday Harbor Dolphins swim team at Arne Hanna.  The meet featured 25's and 50's in every stroke, relays, 100's in free and back, and a 100 IM to cap things off.  Grace Davis, Madeline Gillman, Shea Mielke and Samantha Orahood all had a great first meet.  The entire Dolphins team also swam well considering it was their first off-island meet.  The meet featured lots of smiles, hugs and pizza-smeared faces (after the meet, of course).  Thanks to all the novice parents who worked hard to make this meet a success!    Meet Results

Blowfish Pentathlon Meet Results
The Bellingham Bay Swim Team (BBST) Blowfish hosted 150 swimmers from six teams April 29 at the Arne Hanna Aquatic Center in Bellingham for the 2006 Blowfish Spring Pentathlon.  The pentathlon rewards swimmers for their all-around ability by combining the total time from 5 events: one in each of the four competitive strokes and an Individual Medley swim (an event in which competitors swim all four
